T minus 34 hours....

Strange to think I will be on the other side of the world before the weekend is out. Though I'm sure the 36 hour journey may bring it home a little!

Any thoughts on how to stave off cabin fever? I heard horse tranquilizers are good for this but sadly Rescue Remedy may have to suffice (ah well the brandy's good at least)

The Good Byes have been gut wrenchingly hard but I have had so many fantastic send off events its a bit like freshers week but with more drinking! And I've never eaten/ been fed so well, will make up for the 8 months of beans and cold supernoodles to come (I know its not working and you're not sympathising)

Learnt today that New Zealand's Prime Minister is a women called Helen. Who knew, this bodes well for my solo quest on behalf of womankind, especially in the Great Blanket Quest of 2008. for those of you who don't know, I plan to knit a square of blanket in each place I go to to make a giant travelling afgan. Aready had a few lovely welcomes from knitting groups in New Zealand so will keep you posted!

Next blog posting will be from Auckland, North Island, New Zealand! Apparently its 34 degrees out there at the moment so I shall be in delighted shock after all this sludgy rain. Off to pack my suncream!
