Day 12 Friday 18 Jan and we're on our way to the Panama Canal. I sat out in the sun this morning for a couple of hours and now I'm exhausted. The sea is a gorgeous shade of mid blue and there's flying fish near the ship. I new I shouldn't have had too strong a gin at brekkie! I listened to the quiz but it was on which currency went with which country, no hope. I'm just waiting for Phil who's gone to the gym AGAIN. He's now addicted to it. I'll go this aftern...

Day 11 Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles What a difference a day makes. This island is very pretty. We got off after breakfast and walked a good mile and a bit along the coastline. We saw some very strange sights, ie Brits abroad wading in the water. The buildings reminded me of Curacao and Bermuda with the gorgeous colours. It's very hot and humid; ankles look lovely!! Next stop is Panama Canal so make sure you come back. That's on Saturday.

We're in Margherita Island near Venezuela and we've had to put our clocks back another half hour!!! Very strange. Phil and I aren't getting off the boat because the island doesn't look at all interesting. So we're enjoying our own private ship. Lunch yesterday at Sandy Lane was very good. Day 9 - Barbados Beautiful weather today and it's great to be on land. Had lunch with M & M in Sandy Lane, our treat for their birthdays. It was a buffet with all the works ….. except booze. There's an election for the Prime Minister today and they have a curfew until after 6.00pm! Phil nearly died when he received the bill, but it was Barbadian dollars, so not so bad after all. Day 4 Madeira. We spent the morning in a jeep along with six others! It was quite cold and very very bumpy off-roading 1400 feet above sea level. Sailed away at 13.00 now on our way to Barbados with 4 days at sea to relax!Relax! I've just walked and jogged three and a half times around the deck and yes I've been in the gym.
