Hola and Happy Easter!! Am in Mendoza for the weekend which has been really brilliant. There are 6 of us all from different places - UK, America, Latvia, Switzerland, Holland and Lithuania!! We left Buenos Aires on Thursday night and it took 13 hours to get here by bus but the bus journey was so much fun! Played bingo and were served wine during the meal and the seats were so comfy. They played the film ´The Notebook´which I can´t believe I have never seen as it was so lovely - all the girls were crying and the guys were asleep! Arrived the following morning and discovered that the hotel we had booked was full and the woman was a complete b**** and so unhelpful! After an hour of walking the streets like zombies we found a hostel for the 4 girls and the 2 guys booked in somewhere else as there was no room anywhere as it was the Easter weekend. Went wine tasting that afternoon and have discovered a real liking for red wine!! Visited 2 vinyards and a olive oil factory (very exciting!) and at the 2nd place we were left alone at the table of wines which was not a good idea! Had a wander around the market and then went for a nice dinner - found a wine called Santa Julia which was actuallly pretty gross! The following day we got up at 6 and went to visit the Aconcaqua mountains which was absolutely stunning. The scenery was beautiful and we went for a hike around the area which was great. Today we have been horse trekking which was a lot of fun although I was given the biggest horse out of everyone and freaked out a bit!!! Getting the overnight bus back to BA tonight and then might be off to Uruguay tomorrow but am not sure yet xx
