We left Homer in the pouring rain and were thankful this wasn't yesterday as the cloud was really low .......but we saw our bears at Brooks Falls and I have sorted a lot of my photos now and even though the weather was dull I have some good ones of the bears fishing.
We made good time to Anchorage - about five hours with stops - one for coffee at Soldotna and a MacDonalds hash brown and one for a loo break and mozzarella sticks at Girdwood.
The wildfire was now out at McHugh Creek and the traffic jams we sat in on the way down to Whittier are a distant memory, thanks to natures own fire extinguisher.
Our last task was to find a petrol station before returning the car - why are they never on your side of the road? - after a couple of extra miles we finally filled up and made our way to the airport.
We checked in for our 6 pm flight to Seattle and luggage free we relaxed with coffee and a light bite.
In Seattle we were staying at the Double Tree - I was able to download an electronic key and check in on line - it meant no standing in the queue at 1140 pm which was great as we were tired. ..... And yes by touching a button on my Hilton App the door to our room unlocked - by blue tooth magic!
After a good nights sleep our next stop is the airport at 3pm tomorrow for our London bound BA flight!
(Today's photo is of the rare cross fox we saw in Katmai - it is a red fox with a double recessive gene for black )
