Well, I have made it to Germany where I am enjoying the warmer climate and being able to get a coffee without paying $10. Catching the train from Copenhagen was quite fun. Some people from the hostel were going to Berlin, so were on the same train as me. Basically there is a train from Copenhagen to the end of Denmark, then a ferry crossing to Germany, then another hour or so to Hamburg. I assumed that we would be on 2 different trains and a ferry for the journey...

Oh and I forgot to mention my near death experience. When I hired the bicycle, I was quite nervous as I have only been cycling twice in recent memory (once in San Francisco and once on Rottnest Island two years ago). Danish law doesn't require helmets so the bike hire place doesn't feel the need to stock them, which made me even more nervous. The guy seemed to find this quite amusing and assured me that everything would be fine and sent me on my way with my bike....

As I am writing this, I am currently on a train, pulling out of Malmo station, in the very south of Sweden on the way to Copenhagen from Stockholm. I just got the bejeezus scared out of me by a "helpful" local who as he, and indeed the entire other occupancy of my carriage, alighted at Malmo kindly said "You should get off the train now" to which I replied "Oh, I thought this went directly to Copenhagen" and he said "Oh, aaaah, ...

Well here I am in Norway where the daily maximum temperature is around 8 each day. It's not quite as bad as it sounds, however, as there is literally no wind at all so it's not too bad outside. Everywhere has heating. Lots of heating. Anyway, backtracking slightly, I had an hilarious last day in London, meeting up and with Schembri and one of his friends who are doing a 4 week jaunt around Europe.
