Hola!,
Kia Ora everybody (That's welcome in Maori language... not that I know any other words but better than nothing I guess...).
Just finished one month travelling round New Zealand, starting point Auckland, joined a tour bus company (The Magic Bus - 20% discount winter offer was the key factor...).
Travelled one week around the north island and the rest around the beautiful south island (pure belter!).
I've been to thermal pools in Taupo (very smelly place...), I've seen glow worms (awesome!) and also the prime minister and the rest of the MP's at a free session in parliament, took a ferry to the south island, travelled round the coast and the south alps by train, saw whales in Kaikoura, an adventurous walk at the Franz Josef glacier, tried a sea kayak, cicle around Wanaka lake, snowboard and sky in Queenstown and jump from a 15m pole... too scared for anything bigger!!!
I saw sea lions, seals, pinguins, albatros, shags (that's a bird),milions of sheep, in fact, very fluffy sheep indeed, ate a possum pie and to top it up got stuck few hours in Lake Tekapo because of the snow... and all that in just one month!
But what I will always remember from that country has to be the scenery, never seen something like that and I have no words to describe how beautiful the landscape is.
Imagine you could draw lakes next to big mountains topped with snow, add lots off green patches everywhere and animals of all types and shapes, throw in some friendly locals, great museums and all the adrenaline pumping activities you could think off...shake it, shake it and that will be New Zealand.
I'm off to South America tomorrow. hope I will live more adventures there!
Thanks for your messages, they keep me insanely happy!!!
Un peto,
Jordi
