Got ferry over from Koh Tao to Koh Samui. Met up with my parents at their luxurious hotel and had "my" Christmas day with them. I also saw a friend from my university by the pool, small world. I'd been spoilt once again, so much that they purchased a larger suitcase to bring it all over haha. As i was opening all my presents, i had a bag of celebrations, English tea and my ultimate favourite Marmite!! Even Kyle got a load of presents. Got way too many presents and realistically i was unable to carry them, so I've had to go through all my stuff and compromise what i actually need! Been treated to loads of nice large meals and drinks. My stomach can't cope with the large meals no more, felt sick nearly everyday on Koh Samui. My parents are not used to the way of living in South Asia, they orginally thought it looked like a s*** hole when then traveled from the airport. I said it's South Asia not Europe, streets are undeveloped here, get used to it. However, they do like it here now, they say the people are the nicest, which they are.
I went to the Full Moon party for New Years, what an absolute mental place!! So many people there but i really enjoyed it and we seen people who we met throughout traveling. Managed to get our booked ferry back at 10:30am. All i wanted when traveling back the next morning was some water and my bed.
Moved hostel because i orginally thought my hostel was close to my parents but it's not so were moving to a closer and nicer one. Dad being Dad has booked me and Kyle into their hotel for 5 nights. We get breakfast buffet, gym, bath, fridge, 4 pools, tv...loving life!
We borrowed a generous couples expensive motorbike to transport our stuff from our hostel to parents hotel, which was a bit of a disaster. We locked the bike up outside our hostel whilst we got our bags. Locked the bike where the key goes in the ignition, which puts a metal protector over it so that no one can put any key in it. So when it came to actually starting the bike up, we couldn't unlock this key ignition lock. We asked numerous people to help. In the end me and kyle pushed the bike all the way to the bike shop, taking it in turns in who pushes and who sits on it and steers. Finally got to the bike shop and all he did was get the master key and unlocked it. Sweat was pouring off me! Top tip: never lock a bikes ignition lock.
Took mum and dad for some spicy seafood noodle soup at a local street food stall. Dad couldn't eat it, as the food didn't look right, should of known the fussy git. Mum liked it though, but they are both used to their restaurants. They couldn't believe the price and portion size, they would easily pay 300-400baht for a dish. Street food you pay 100 for fresh seafood. We got free windsurfing at hotel but i got stung by jellyfish. And we get kayaking at the hotel so been on them a few times however the best thrill was the jet ski!! I never let go of the accelerator, was so much fun...nice one Dad!
Met a few mature couples at the hotel and they have all treated us in one way or another, not spent a penny! They have given us unwanted food, alcohol, toiletries, books and drinks.
Finally had a message, i had to choose wisely, as there were many ladyboys working in these parlours. Massage was beaut though, only cost 300 baht for 1 hour which is £6.
Put on 2kg in weight since I've been with my parents, they have certainly done their job in fattening me up.
Held the smallest and softest monkey on the beach and a lizard at Ark bar.
Sad to leave Koh Samui, the hotel and Mum and Dad. We had our final meal, had the best steak and burger I've ever had.
I would like to say a massive thank you to my Mum and Dad. You both have been the so funny and giving, i really appreciate everything you have done for me. Love you both loads you pair of nutters!
