I haven't blogged about Melaka as there wasn't really much to talk about, other than my hospitalisation. Of which i have spoken about in my previous blog. Thank you all for messaging me and making sure i was okay. Good job i had Kyle to be my slave, still trying to milk that I'm ill, but be assured, I'm all healthy now.
Traveled to Singapore by bus, which has to be the easiest visa and passport check ever. Singapore is another London, so clean, sleek and convenient. I felt right at home, it felt like I wasn't in Asia anymore which was nice for the three days i was here. I went to the Singapore Museum to get an understanding of Singapore independence and why it's so westernised. I was cheeky and asked for student discount at the museum using my STA travel card. It's not even a student card but worth asking, and result, got it half price. Absolutely pissed it down majority of the afternoon. And so we spent the afternoon in the shopping centres, as they had many huge shopping centres all on one street. Bought some new clothes as all my light/white clothing looks brown. Underground system here is great, so easy and fairly cheap. Went on the sky tower to get a 360 degree view of the city at night, couldn't really capture what you see on camera. Prices here are extremely high, it's £1.20 for a bottle of water!! I've been paying 30p for a bottle. Food is really nice but so expensive, but i can cope with the expense for just a few days. Worst thing about Singapore is this s***ty hostel. It smells of damp and dirty washing all over the hostel. It's full of dirty Indian, Asian and African men, and they all don't know how to eat with the mouth closed...i have to take my earphones to breakfast to drown out the sound of the b******s eating! Visited a war memorial, where Kyles Grandads Uncle was buried during world war two. Went to Marina Bay and to Singapore Central Business District where there is huge glass buildings and hotels. Had a "cheap" beer along the bay, £3!!!! Rip off!! In comparison with Vietnam, I could of had 190 beers for same price as i paid for 4 beers in Singapore! And we waited for the sunset to get photos of the city at night and of the helix bridge which is supposed to look like DNA. We had 10 dollars between us in change to spend on food. We got a meal...just, and then we spent our last 2 dollars on mcdonalds ice cream. We had no money left for the next day, oh well, were off to the Philippenes!!!
