Cameron highlands is much colder due to it being a few thousand feet above sea level. Such a shame that 40% of it's woodland has been cut down and more to come down as the Malaysian Government is so corrupt, they take bribes from the rich, left, right and centre. It's actually been nice to wear my hoody and thermal socks.
Checked into our hostel and both the receptionist are ladyboys, strange as Malaysia is mainly a muslim country! Funniest thing was they gave us our bedding to make our own bed, the cheek! And the bottom bunk bed where i was, was so low, it felt like i was in a coffin. I had to make sure I didn't sit up quickly or else I'll end up head butting the top bunk.
Went on a trek to the Mossy Forest which is one of the oldest forest in high altitude, the trees are fairly small due to slow growth and moss covering all the branches and roots, pretty cool to see. Althought the whole adventure in the forest was illegal as the Government has banned people from entering the forest but our tour guide had the balls to take us in. Good on him as it would be him who would be prosecuted not us, 10,000RM fine. Apparently in the Cameron Highlands, it has the highest amount of Land Rovers in the world. Funnily enough our guide drove us around in one, driving like an absolute nutter, reminded me of my brother Lee! Went to a Tea plantation which was average but the vast area where they grow tea leaves was picturesque. Interesting learning where tea originated from, how they make and grow it, was surprisingly interesting. Poor b******s that harvest the leaves earn 3p per Kg, pretty much slavery...hope you all enjoy cheap cup of tea in the morning!
The group decided we should do a trek of our own without the guide to get back to the hostel. Me and kyle took it in turns to lead the group, as the girls didn't want the responsibility.
