Returned back to Chiang Mai with a cold, so annoying having to spend 2 days in bed. 5 days on and i still have a cold. Traveled from Chiang Mai in Thailand to Luang Pravang in Laos on a 3 day tour! First day we traveled in a mini bus and stopped at the White Temple in Chiang Rai. The paintings on the inside of the temple were slightly disturbing, as they had characters out of films and the twin towers burning down...strange i know (see photos). Then continued traveling north and stayed in some homestay place for the night. Immigration control from Thailand to Laos is s***, takes way too long and they are constantly scamming tourist where they can. Charged us all 20baht to get the shuttle bus, from one office to the other! On our second day we traveled along the Mekong River from the boarder of Laos to the centre and we had to find accommodation but first we had to draw out 1 million kip which is £80! Said I wasn't drinking at dinner as I'm taking tablets for my cold, me being me, went to 'happy bar', played beer pong, didn't get back till 1am with the English lads. Wake up call at 7am for another 8 hour boat journey. Got off the boat in Luang Prabang and the tuk tuks are over charging everyone by charging 20,000kip per person. So i decided to buy one ticket, change the number to two people so that me and kyle only paid 10,000 each, kiss that you robbing b******s!! Met some really sound lads on the boat tour, theres about 15 of us and all doing the same thing, same route around Asia and doing a working visa in Ozz.
