We went to these thermal baths in a nearby town called Santa Rosa en Cabla. Basically, its a waterfall and they made a few pools which use the natural water from the waterfall and they pump boiling hot water in the pool. It was beaut, dipping once we had just been in the cool waterfall. We did this at night so you can appreciate the warmth of the thermal pools. Interesting to see what the locals do on a Sunday evening. Very different to what were used to.
Ordering food was so funny with Seb family. Me and Kyle did'nt have a clue what was happening for five minutes or so. Sebs dad made us laugh, saying how can it be this hard ordering food. He was holding his head in his hands...women! We finally ordered a traditional meal; menu of the day. Sebs dad was getting frustrated with the women back seat driving and interfering to where we was heading. So he made a few wrong turns but that was all ok. But i did feel sorry for him having to drive this family van with 7 seats in that had a 1.2 engine. It could barely ecelerate, plus the clutch was awful. We managed to get where we wanted but at times we thought the van was going to blow up from the sounds it was making.
Cacoa valley to see the tallest palm trees in the world. They grow up to 60m high and the main question on our mind was, why? Simply put, its just the characteristics of the palm trees, no real explanation. Its not even if they need to grow that tall to reach the sun or anything as there's nothing that surrounds the trees. Interesting to see the sheer size of them and the landscape in Colombia is really nice. To finish off the few days spent with Seb and his family they treated us one last time to a meal, a local dish with different pieces of meat. Really tasty dish. It had avocado, beans, eggs and different meats. We were all stopped by some local children who wanted to ask us some questions in English to improve their English. They did well but only one girl was asking all the questions. Afterwards, we said our final goodbyes. And this time it was our final time saying goodbye to Seb, even though we have said goodbye maybe twice already. Been brilliant having him around. See you when I return Seb.
