Today we travelled by private transport to Río Dulce, about an 8 hour trip. It was a little hard to wake this morning to get ready for the trip, however after hearing some of the stories from others that stayed out, I shouldn't be complaining. We stopped on the way for lunch at Hotel El Atlantico. We woke this morning after a very restless night, at 3am being woken by roosters making there crowing noise (apparently the first bus to Guatemala leaves at 3am which wakes them), and on top of that there is some kind of festival on so we were being woken by fireworks every 30 minutes to an hour. We all had the opportunity to sleep in this morning as we didn't have to be ready until 9am this morning, however chances are most people were at one point woken early this morning by the roosters like I was. We took a boat this morning to have breakfast at Casa Del Mundo, such a lovely view from there overlooking the lake. Today we packed our big bags to have sent to a hotel in advance so that we can travel with just a day bag. We all went to meet and have breakfast at a local Bagel bar, apparently pretty good. I ordered my bagel and sat down and guess what type of butter they used, good old Anchor butter from New Zealand. After breakfast we carried on to start the big trip for the day, about 4 hours on different chicken buses and finished off with a 10 minute ride on a tuk-tuk. ...

Up this morning at 8am and went for orientation. We walked around a lot of places which I had already seen the previous day on my own, however it was a good chance to actually find out what some of those places were as well as see some other places I hadn't seen yet.
