Hi all,
Well since the hiking i was hoping for an easier time, with some R&R. In a way visiting lake titicacca on the Bolivia/Peru border did just that, however the temperature never seems to get any warmer at night and i always end up wearing just about all my clothes to bed. They say Titicacca is the highest navigable lake in the world at about 3600m. It took most of the day to get to the island of Amantani going past the floating reed island Uros. These people can litterally tow there island somewhere new if they like, and of course they dont have to pay taxes. On Amantani we played football with locals, very hard work, then the group was split into pairs and simon and i stayed with a great family. They have very little possession and live basic lives, no hot water and 2 hours electricity in the evening. After a family meal we dressed in local party gear and to the village hall for dancing. It was great fun but after a while dancing at 4000m was tiring. The following morning after breakfast we returned to puno for a long awaited hot shower and warm bed in our hotel.
Soon we leave to cross the border into Bolivia, the first stop La Paz. Unfortunatley our group will soon be losing some members who are going home. Its a shame as we are like a little family now.
Adios Amigo.
