hi Boys and Girls!!
As u may have noticed its taken me a little while to get on the internet to update you on my adventures! China didnt have the best internet access!
hope everyone is good, great to read messgaes from people on the message board! Thanks!
Jen and i arrived in Shanghai thursday 28th Dec, after a long 11 hour flight! Shanghai has been quite an eye opener for both of us! We walked along the Bund, been on the fastest train in the world the Maglev which reached 431 km/hour, seen some amazing sights and found some great chinese markets to shop in! although we are both annoyed that because we are traveling we cant pick up too many things along the way as our bags are already really heavy! Shanghai is such a busy city, its such a shock to see people in such poverty surrounded by people with such wealth.. a real eye opener for me! We havent met that many people here who speak english and therefore its been very difficult getting from place to place, but the great thing is that its so cheap here! although iv found myself beibg strangley petty and not being sure if to buy things that cost about 20p!! its sooo mad!!
One thing im hving trouble with is finding vegetarian food...anywhere!! its becoming quite funny, ordered noodles with veg the other day and i got it ... with the added extra of a tonne of smll prawns and some unidentified pink meat! yuk! iam an ailen to them!
Im afraid that jennie and i stayed in on new years eve!! sounds so lame haha, we both cant believe we did but we were so shattered from traveling about that day that we both collpsed on our bed about 6 in the eveing and didnt wake up until the next day!!! hope everyone alse had a great druken time!!!!
Tuesday 2nd Jan we are catching the ferry from here to Oasaka in Japan, it takes two days so that should be an experience in itself!!
