Days 25 &26
Tonights blog is 2 days in one as both are moving days. Saturday we are up at 5 o'clock have to catch a plane at 7.10 but need to be at the airport by 6 because
Of security reasons.plane left on time again ,maybe Australia can learn that things can run on time without to much fuss. We arrived in Anchorage 1 1/2 hrs later. We back to our normal manner of arrival, someone was there to pick us up. Rooms will not be ready to 2.30 so we drop the bags and it straight into exploring mode. We chose to go to the native cultural centre ,hope the free shuttle. Take 45 minutes ,good not great, end of season ,only work during the summer as snow makes it hard to reach as it does with the whole area.
There were interesting aspect, like the building of such things as their dwellings and their kayaks but overall hmmm. We travelled back had lunch jumped onto another shuttle to take us to the Zoo. This was quite good got photos of animal we are yet to see here, but we're very disappointed at the Bears and wolves areas as they were very small, for full grown bears and wolves. When I took the photo of the brown bear he had been standing against that gate for near on 5 minutes,he was not a happy bear, and why should he ,if you have to look after them do it well, this was poor.
Today we were up early again this time a train to Seward. This time our trip was filled sun shine , colour, beauty and the photos expose this in every way ,the smile on Shirley face was better than any photo I could take . It took just 4 hrs from Anchorage ,which was a shame, really enjoyed this ,I kept my eyes out for moose bear and wolves but to no avail once again rooms not ready to go to late in the afternoon so exploring we go, first Seward's sea life centre which was built after the big oil spill back in the ninetys' by the firm who caused it, it now relies solely on tourist dollars Next ,time for lunch, we chose the brewing company ,great burgers , fish tacos, and of course good wine and beer. Now you can't go to a new hotel without a bottle of wine to celebrate so now the real search is on in earnest ,there is one , Chardonnay to go and we are off to the Windsong our lodging for the next today. So that sort of sums up the 2days
We thank you for your comments and hope all are well , go the eels and good luck to the bear,I believe you are going to create your own place in norths history.
Love you all,
Shirley and John
