Day 16 our adventure to the north

Today was good day to sleep in,again the rain was pouring down, but this will not stop us from our goal. We are going to find the State National Park, here they keep a series of totems from the first National people , there Ten in total which I have pictures of.

We then went to the Ketchikan museum ,this had vintage cars, pistols, rifles, and other give ideas , a bit of interest , but at least it was dry.

Lunch had catch up to us and we went searching for a small shop that sold Halibut sandwiches, we found it and try this amusing fish which would have been better grilled or fried rather than battered and deep fried.

Lunch over we are going back to look for Black Bear , down by the mouth of the river on the change of the tide. We arrived not a bear in sight , waited five maybe ten minutes still on Bears, we left ,drove off , turned right on to the main road , just driving slow, double checking , and then ,there's a BEAR. We swung the car around got back and were lucky to snap a few shots of these beautiful creatures.

We return home , and I had A poppy nap, woke about 4.30 , we are going out for a drink at a place called the arctic bar ,good old fashioned country cowboy bar , good vibe though. From we were looking for meal but the place we wanted had move so Mexican was all that was opened as all the cruise ship had left the port.

This whole day could have been fantastic only for the rain. Tomorrow's another day and we are hoping that the rain will go away and let a little sunshine back into our life.
