Day 14arrival at Ketchikan.

I awoke a some ungodly hour to dull light of a morning covered in cloud and threatening to rain. I try to go back to sleep ,but I knew that to be Futile, so I climbed out of be dressed and went on deck to be confronted by a very disappointing view, a couple of the The view.Walking around the deck trying in vain to catch a glimpse of a whale ,eagle, anything but not to beer are still 1 hr From Ketchikan and now the rain is pis----g down , Shirley has now risen and again it not happy Jan, raining ,sore throat ,nothing is going right the way she would like,she decided must see the doctor and Balty needs to see a dentist, got to keep your eye on these old folk don't you .

Final we moored and off the ferry ,go to the waiting room and for the first time in Shirley's history no one was there to meet us ,even though they should be. We allow waited ,after fifteen minutes we rang . There had been a mix up and ten minutes later Jim was there to take our bags to the Bear inn b&b and to drop us in town. Jim is a lovely man has that slow country American draw ,which falls in line with the way this town works

First Shirley then Balty find their chosen needs A medical clinic , and a Dentist both got appointment and they were within and 1 1/2 hrs of walking in .

With is all that now behind us and only prescription to pick up we headed for food, we were told to go to the pioneer cafe, an old style happy days setting remarkable. It is here that we discovered the character of this little island town and also the look similar of Rebel Wilson. This girl was so funny that she had all around her laughing so hard that tears came !and she did this with little to no effort, we all had a late breaky and the banter that flew between all of us would have made great comedy t.v.

So rain was the winner today and could be tomorrow but we really did our first day in Ketchikan. See you tomorrow
