Steve and Sharron were waiting for us in the carpark which was our start this morning. A quick photo, lots of thank yous and we were off. Greg drove us to the start in his pyjamas this morning, which made a nice alternative to the van! Dropped us off at the foot of the second Shap climb, but it was only half a mile and then we enjoyed almost 8 beautiful miles of predominantly down hill running into Kendal. Difficult to know how to start writing up a day like today. As soon as we took our first step today the distance to go became less than 500 miles! 499 sounds so much better than 500! After 6 miles we passed through Ecclefechan (and yes we took a picture) The locals drop the Eccle (true) so as we ran through the town we passed the Fechan Library, then the Fechan Pub, the Fechan Police Station and finally the Fechan School.
