Just arrived in Brisbane this morning and definitely made the most of my day. Had a quick whizz around the city centre before catching the bus out to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Had my first up close encounter with live kangaroo's and koala's. They were soooo cute!!!

I've booked my bus down to the gold coast for tomorrow and on tuesday I'm going north to Fraser island on a full day tour (7am-9.30pm), so making up for a lazy few days I had in Cairns!!

Cairns was lovely but definitely had a more holiday resort feel about it . Unfortunately I didn't make out to the reef because of restrictions with timing between diving and flying - I really needed a few more days to do everything, (a good excuse to come back again sometime!!). This country is way bigger than I realised, everything is days away!!! I did manage a trip up to Cape Tribulation into the Daintree rainforest. It was fab!! We had our own wee private bbq area for lunch and got to go canoeing in the lake where I spotted a water snake - it certainly made me rock the boat, It was pretty scary!!! We also spotted a couple of crocs on our canal trip - see if you can spot one in the photo's (it's not easy!!) .
