Hi, Just a quick update about our time in Vientiane. We arrived in Laos' capital on Friday, getting a minibus from Vang Vieng. We paid a bit more for this, and expected a bit more luxury and a bit of a quicker journey. We've been here for a week as of today, and so far we're having an incredible time...Last Thursday we crossed the border from Chiang Khong via a boat over the Mekong river from Thailand into Laos. Hi, Just a quick update about our trip to the Golden Triangle region in Thailand, north of Chiang Rai. We arrived in Chiang Rai on Monday, and booked into our hotel. Little did we know that we had chosen a rather seedy area of town, and this affected how much we enjoyed the city. Hi, Time for another update on what we've been up to, from our 4 days in Chiang Mai...On Wednesday night we caught an overnight bus from Bangkok north-bound to Chiang Mai. This bus was like nothing we had experienced in India! Firstly, it departed on time, very promptly at 9 p.m. It was air-conditioned, perfect after the heat of Bangkok, and had almost fully reclining seats, with head-rests and blankets for sleeping.
