Kuala Lumpur 16.3.10
17.3.10-19.3.10 Nikki
We set off way before the crack of dawn for our departure from India.....and chugged off to the airport in our final tuk tuk. The Air Asia flight actually left early so we arrived in KL with hours to spare before Jo's flight to Miri. Starbucks' frappucinos can occupy you very happily for a significant amount of time, we discovered!
Eventually, Nikki took the bargain bus to the city centre and Jo boarded her flight to Miri and the India leg was well and truly done.
It didn't take long for Nikki to settle into life at the Sheraton...the first luxury hotel of the trip. What a treat. You may be surprised to hear that possibly the greatest excitement came when a steam iron and ironing board were found in a cupboard! Perhaps they could think about installing mini-washing machines too...
Apologies for the quality of the photos, they were hastily snapped to prove that I did venture away from the home comforts to do a little exploring. The underground and skytrain network were so fast and efficient that I was able to visit three different areas during the two days and still leave plenty of pool time!
It's quite entertaining sitting here at the business centre typing this up watching the comings and goings in the lobby. A large group nearby have just cracked open a few bottles of champagne, presumably to celebrate some business deal as they are all suited and booted...how the other half live! Such a stark contrast to India; perhaps we are lucky to be somewhere in the middle?

Jo Very jealous of the steam iron... Poor Charlotte's still isn't working after I blew it up on my first day here! All my clothes have been through the washing machine so I'm having to sport the creased look.
