This morning, the group chipped in to take a ferry across the island rather than going back via the bridge we came over on. We made our way down to the Glenfinnan Viaduct in time to see the Jacobite steam train go across it. This train is famous for being used as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films. This morning, we headed north up the east coast of the Isle of Skye and stopped off at several viewpoints along the way. The views along the coast were spectacular. We stopped by at some viewpoints of The Storr, a rocky hill near the coast, and Mealt Falls, a scenic waterfall flowing into the sea. Today, we left Ullapool and went to Corrieshalloch Gorge, through which the River Droma flows. The gorge is quite impressive and there are magnificent views from the bridge going over it. We then head down the coast to Sheildag, a quaint seaside village, before going down to Plockton, along Loch Carron, for lunch. We spent the day exploring the Scottish Highlands and taking in the scenery they have to offer. Our day started off with us leaving Ullapool and heading up towards the Assynt region. This day marked the beginning of my 5-day tour around the Scottish Highlands. Our first stop was the village of Dunkeld, where we stopped to grab a bite to eat and toodle around.
