Küssnacht Sämmiclaus Jagen
We went to see a traditional christmas time parade. It was odd. First the lights turn out. Then people come down the streets dressed in white, cracking whips. Then these lanterns come down the road. This is followed by many people ringing big Swiss bells. Then comes the brass band and horns playing a very monotonous tune. That's it. Hundreds of Swiss people standing road side being politely quiet and reserved. I think it is designed to scare away some kind of anti-Santa called black peter who grabs people up in sacks and throws them into the river.
