Hi, Thurs 10th Nov, a day and night on our private houseboat (photo) with chef, skipper and one crew. We had a wonderful time on the backwaters of Kerala exploring huge lakes and narrow canals looking out on paddy fields and passing sleepy rural villages, nice fish dish for lunch, massive prawns for dinner and a lovely breakfast next morning. 11th - 13th on an Island on one of the huge lakes at Phil Kutty's Farm which featured on Rick Steins Indian cooking series...

We arrived in Cochin yesterday after two flights, but had a five hour stop over in Mumbai Airport so it was a long day. Wednesday 9th Nov. Thursday 3rd Nov had a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise just as spectacular in the early morning mist and no crowds, on to the massive Agra fort, then Sikandra a red sandstone mausoleum and finished the day at Itimad-ud-daulah with its finely carved marble lattice screens, this tomb is also called the Baby Taj, because of its resemblance to the Taj Mahal. We flew from Varanasi to Khajuraho Saturday 29th October, that afternoon we visited the eastern and western temples and they have some very explicit erotic carving in sand stone (if Ga will let me I'll post some) they were stunning.
