Jane and Ali's USA tour!
Now this journal entry is going to be verrrrrrry brief 'cos lets just say we didn't exactly take to texas too well! The 33 hour bus journey went well, it wasn't too eventful; apart from two lesbians (who we actually thought were boys eeek) started to talk to us at a service station 3/4 of the way through the journey abour random crap, and talking the p out of us for being english *fuff* (Ali reakons they were hitting on us *raised eyebrows*) and they sat in front of us for the rest of the journey (fortunately they were travelling to houston so we lost them at Dallas *fhew*). I did have a fairly big blonde moment (due to being delerious from travelling of course!!) when the bus driver asked me where we were changing i said amerretto (a very nice alcoholic beverage!hee hee) instead of amerillo!! OUPSIE.... i obv still had the alcohol still in my system from Vegas!
Okay so we arrive at Dallas, realise that our hostel (the only hostel in Dallas) was actually a looong bus ride away in Irvine! We therefore had to take another bus into the middle of nowhere, where no one had heard of the hostel!! Getting a bit freaked at this point, especially when the taxi driver took us to the address and it was a church!!!! Hmmm. We eventually find the hostel at a completely different address and it was the spit image of the house from texas chain saw masacre *raised eyebrows*. We knocked and a guy who couldn't speak english came from the back of the house and indicated us to follow him, on the way passing a very old clapped out car with torn interior (weird). The house was not like any hostel we've stayed in so far, it was very dirty and on the board was a list of the people who were due to stay there for the next month (only me and Ali *raised eyebrows* again!). Now we had already decided not to stay here and eventually convinced the manager (who was on the phone) to give us our money back *fhew*. We left Irvine immediately, booked ourselves into a nice hotel in the centre of Dallas for the night and treated ourselves to a nice steak dinner :)
The next day we travelled another 21 hours to Memphis, Tennessee to see the King!! .......the journey continues....
