EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!
Ok so have I got all of your attention??
TODAY I JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE! ARGH! AT 15,000 FT
IT WAS SO FUN! I cant believe I done it! We nearly didn't, but not because of us but because of the bloody weather our first attempt yesterday was cancelled! We travelled down from Rotorua to Taupo yesterday planning to do our jump today but were convinced by our driver to do the dive as we arrived as the weather was going to get bad for the next few days! We were not expecting to the dive at all that day so the nerves just hit us. We got all dressed in our suits heard the safety video met our instructors got in the plane got up to 15,000 feet flew around for a bit threw one person out!!! and then were told we had to come back down! We were so upset, what an anti-climax! All those nerves just to get out of the plane the same way we came in! We re-booked but we still not confident about being able to jump and this morning the flights were put on hold AGAIN as we were getting dressed because of the wind! Luckily the weather gave us a gap though and so it was up there again for the second time. I was looking out of the window the whole way willing the clouds to move and as it happens they did! So the doors were flung open and the first person was out... then the second... then it was Hayley - eeek, that was scary watching her fall out of the doors in front of me! I swore! 's***' really loudly in my instructors ear before he shimmied us to the door! We were so high, 15,000 feet but I didn't have much time to think because in a few seconds Andy was rocking me forward and then we were out! I screamed of course but after spinning upside-down I couldn't scream any more, I could barely breathe! The views were amazing, from that high up you can actually see the curve of the earth and that was amazing! We were free-falling for around 65 seconds before the parachute opened and that was so amazing, I cant stop saying amazing but it was! And then the parachute opened and we were floating right above Lake Taupo a lake bigger than the whole of Singapore, and the colour was...amazing! Lake Taupo was a giant creator in the ground created by a volcano imploding millions of years ago. It was recorded in the bible as 3 days of darkness when it happened and in China as red sky at night.
Anyway check out my photos, I have a video too that I will try to put up, you can see my cheeks flapping about in the wind - nice!
