Gaz and Leah picked us up from the airport and we all went down to Mayaro to hide out down there for a few days. Harry and Monica put us up in their pool room which was lovely of them. It was so wonderful to be able to take Jen to Mayaro and show her just how different Trinidad is to Tobago (she even sampled doubles!). It was a really nice stop to be able to spend a couple of days doing nothing but with no concerns about connecting flights or looking out for our possessions. Hopped over to Tobago on the Monday before Mum's surprise do and Nigel picked us up and hid us away at Sherwood Park. Gaz and Leah flew back on the Tuesday and KatieMac flew out on the Wednesday. Along with Lesh, one big liming session. KatieMac was a little tired and somewhat emotional; needless to say her big brother instinctively wound her up and Jen had to play mediator. By Mum's birthday on the Thursday, we were all a little tired of secrets and planning. We turned up to Waterfall Villa and Mum was on Skype to Em. I think she was rather confused when she turned around and saw her other children standing behind her. The months of lies, fibs and half-truths all worth it! Haha.
Tobago was a really wonderful ending to our travels. Thank you Mum, Liz and KatieMac. We had loads of fun on the beach perfecting our frisbee and taking a few hammock naps. We sailed 'Dream Lover' up to Charlotteville with Gaz and Leah who were delayed due to Iceland's volcanic activity and had a great time. Jen and I found it all a bit surreal as we had had so many months with it just being the two of us making our own decisions, but as we said, it was the perfect transition into normality.
So on 30th April 2010, after 365 days away, we took our final flights back to London Heathrow. A little emotional, a lot tired, but with big smiles across our faces.
