Hi everyone.. A week in and finally we get round to writing a journal entry! It's been pretty hectic so far, but reaching Laos it seems that everything has just slowed down..?? We sailed here over 2 days.. The scenery was beautiful and reliable photographer Tail has taken many many many photos so take a look at our photo albums when you can.. We visited a very remote village, just on the river where the little children ran to show us materials we could buy. It was so hard to say no, and the children were so beautiful! We bought a small gift each and took photos of the children to send back to them when developed, they have no cameras there. Such a beautiful journey, but of course as each part of our trip has shown us lots of new things, there was no change here. On two separate occasions we saw a dead body floating past on the Mekong River. It was shocking and upsetting and after sailing past it got us thinking about how different the world really is. We spent the rest of the journey thinking of these men. We arrived in Luang Probang at about 5 o clock, greeted with a warm shower and air conditioning! We were shamefully excited about this and got ready for our meal with the rest of the group.. We went to a local restaurant and both Tail and I had steak (needed some fat after all the healthiness!) We think that the "beef" was actually probably buffalo.. It was delicious, although Tail had to think of pretty cows instead. The Malibu helped. We've just taken a walk down the night market and the things are beautiful! We want to buy everyone and ourselves so many presents but our bags are already full! Little Nev would love it here, I want to buy her a whole new jewellry wardrobe! Tomorrow we've decided to get up at 5:30 to watch the monks walk through the town.. We'll fill you in soon if that actually happens! No USB tonight, but more photos to come.. hope this entry has made up for the week! We're missing you all and hope to speak to you soon..
