We left Lanjaron and spent more time clinging to mountain edges but the views were wonderful. We drove east across the Alpujarra, which is an area of mountain villages clinging to the slouthern lsopes of the Sierra Nevada. There are goats and sheep and olive groves and a lot of ham being dried, though nary a pig to be seen. We are currently in the town of Lanjarón, in an area of Andalucía known as the Alpujarra. We just finished a meal where I had Jeanne´s soup (Sopa Alpujarra, made with ham, chorizo and beans) and Jeanne had my soup (made with creamed squash) and Jeanne had her own dish made of bacalao (salt cod) with beans.
