Hi everyone! Nicole and Ayesha here in Aukland!

After last update in Wanganui, we drove to Wellington, and awesome city!!! Got the Base and the prices were hiked up because the NZ versus South Africa Rugby was on the next day. Might as well take advantage of the situation, we got ourselves some tickets! Good news: we were on the front row right behind the goal (or the poles as i called them and got laughed at). bad news was that its was 3 degrees and pouring down with rain. We were shivering little hobbits, but some hot donuts and a fat gravy pie warmed us up a little, expecially as the team we were obviously supporting, New Zealand, won!

On the way back we saw a live band in a bar and then did some pub/club hopping. Ended up in one full of 19 year olds in their short skirts off their face. Us - wearing full parkas, jogging bums and hoodies, felt a bit out of place. But who cared, the music was brilliant, and the fruity jailbait cocktails were delicious!

All excited about paying 40 dollars and getting front row tickets, we smugly came back to the hostel to brag to our roommates who paid 320 dollars for a view up near the queen. They beat us though with their bragging as they had stumbled into the exact club full of all the rugby players and got loads of photos!!!!! doh!

The botanic gardens were beautiful, and the te papa museum pretty good too. We decided to reluctantly leave wellington to go to the waitomo caves (after an annoying incident of our flatmate stealing my door key and me stressing after the $20 deposit like a tasmanian devil on speed. luckily we sorted the situation out and we left 2 hrs later $20 in hand). The route SH1 from Wellington to Aukland is AMAZING as we passed the sea, a bay and beautiful now snowcapped volcano mountain. Bodies were very confused as last week was heat wave, now was snow!! Problem was we got snowed in and stuck in Ohakune, so missed Waitomo caves, and went straight to Aukland instead.

Getting the plane tomorrow night/early morning so nice sleep at the airport :os

For now were heading off to skytower once the washing drier goes *ping*
