We arrived at heathrow with plenty of time spare, found our purple parking site with ease. Parked up and handed the keys to Zoe over to the enthusiastic bus driver, "what terminal please" "three" was our reply, so we embarked on our ten minute journey towards T3
We headed straight to area E after finishing the last drag of fresh air for many hours, Dani was enthusiastic and approached the quick drop luggage counter smiling and enthusiastically dropping into conversation that this was our honeymoon on the hope of a courtesy upgrade to first class, we came away disappointed at the thought of being sat in Economy. The plan had failed!!!!
After clearing the intense scenario of being physically searched at security( must be the thugish look of a bald
Man and metal detectors activating) prompted them to search. After a few minutes we were air side of T3.
Well being a traditional man my first thoughts of being air side were in this order
1- wetherspoons for the first holiday pint
2- wetherspoons cheap and cheerful all day breakfast
3- shopping for pre honeymoon accessories
After scanning the map of T3 no Whetherspoons pub was found, TGI Fridays was there and a gastro bar called Bridge!!! But WTF is Whetherspoons??? Bridge it is then!!
My heart dropped as I ordered a pint, one small glass of Pinot and a dish to share for myself and Dani to share
"twenty five seventy two please"!!
Returning back to our table I found Dani had started the networking with fellow travellers, Pauline and Michael.
The couple in there late 50s were what Michael had described was his "gap" year, they were off to see their son in
Aus, for three months then onto new Zealand!! Lucky b*****s
The time had come it was 7 pm and time for us to board our plane. first things first, was it an a-380?? Luckily it wasn't but it was the predecessor the a-370!! I failed to mention this to dani cause she was nervous any way being her first long flight, the thought of recent engine failures would cause extra worry.
Qatar here we come!!!!
