James & Vicky playing away from home
Hey guys havn't written a post card in a while so thought we better get on and write one. We are now in Waipukarau where we have moved in to a two bedroomed house of our own and kermitt is still going strong. We have been to many beaches since we have been down here, where when the tide is out you can go walk out onto the reefs. The beaches are only 45minutes drive away you seem to be going into the hills but all of a sudden the ocean is right out infront of you with long sandy beaches and flat water. As we have been going during the week no one has been on them apart from us which is strange as we think we own the beach. If we are not at the beach we are driving to one of the main cities near to us Napier and Hastings. Both cities are very small in comparison to cites back home. We first went to Hastings not really knowing anything about the place but soon found a warehouse which is a place kind of like Makro so we decked out the house with a few items after looking round the place which only took about an hour we decieded to go and explore the local area not really finding much so we headed home. The Next day we headed to Napier the main city on the east coast of NZ hear there was much more to do we looked around the marina parade which is a long strip infront of the sea where all the main attractions are. we decided that we wanted to go to the aquariam where we saw hundreds of different fish and animals, the photos taken didnt really represent the beauty of some of the fish. after this we took another walk along the parade and found marineland where you could swim with dolphins and look at other sea animals these included sea lions, seals, penguins etc we thought about going in and swimming with the dolphins there and then but then decided that we would book it and come back the following week. Looking round Napier James decied to become a proper tourist and started taking photo's of everything and anyting so most ofthe time i was walking off pretending i didn't know him. We are now planning a trip away to Taupo wich is the largest lake in NZ there is plenty to do there so hopfully we will write another post card on that but dont count on it. James and Vicky
