Fort Kochi We were tired and hungry when we arrived in Fort Kochi so we went to the nearest recommended restaurant and had an amazing curry, beer and naan, so much so we ate there again on two more occasions. Fort Kochi is a really nice area with a complex history and a truly ethnic diverse culture. There are exotic spice markets, Chinese fishing nets, Dutch style houses, a Portuguese palace, a Jain temple and a synagogue in the greatly named area of Jew Town!...

The God of Small Things This town has been immortalised by one of my (and KB's) favourite books; 'The God of Small Things.' We were only here to catch a local ferry to Kottayam and then catch a local bus to Kochi-phew! We spent the night in Alleppey and the town isn't very interesting but our trip on the ferry was brilliant. Going down saaaaffff As we flew into the southern state of Kerala we immediately noticed the extreme change in the landscape. We had flown from the majestic Himalayas into the smog fuelled Delhi and finally landed in the green tropics. Bye Nepal We did a bit of shopping and a lot of eating in Kathmandu before our flight back to India. Raj at Khangasar gave us both a good luck scarf and repeatedly thanked us for staying in his simple guest house and we promised if we are ever back we will stay here again. Rhino Spotting We were quickly running out of time and money in Nepal so only had a quick stop off in this quiet little town. Obviously finding the important things first we went to an amazing restaurant called KC's which had lovely views and delicious thali. The second priority was to see the one horned Rhino.
