Happy New Year everyone hope you all had a good one!If anyone read my last blog your probably thinking i should be in Melbourne now but we had a change of plan and are still in Sydney but are finally leaving for the 3 day trip to Melbourne at the lovely time of 5am tomorrow morning!!! So since I last wrote we have ventured out to the Blue Mountains for a day trip which was awesome although I nearly died as it was the first bit of exercise in a long time. We spent the day seeing all the sights, the 3 sisters (photo above) and the Grose Valley by foot and by bus, the area is so lovely no noise at all and it just goes on for as far as you can see. When we were there the mountains or valley as it actually should be called didnt look blue but apparently the glare from the sun shining on the eualyctupus (not a clue how to spell that) trees gives off a blue shine???!!! After the Blue Mountains we hada nights rest before preparing for the Oz party bus which takes you around Sydney into different bars, getting free drinks and playing silly bar games! AS per ususal after the second bar and after our usual tricks we were well on out way to getting crunk. This all took place the night before and the morning of NYE, not a good idea if we look back now! We were up at half 8 NYE morning to make our way to the view point in order to get a good spot. We met out friends in the queue at Mrs Macquaries Chair just along from the Opera House and stayed in the queue for another hour before we decided to leave and cross the bridge to the other side to meet our friends at a disused ferry terminal (classy). This sport despite the slight fishy smell has amazing views as it was dead opposite the Opera House and a few metres down from the bridge. We hung it out the whole 14 hours in wait for midnight and it was well worth it the fireworks were brillant and it was lovely to see 2011 in a totally different way with people we hardly knew but will probably stay friends with for a long time now!
As we were now in the new year we should have been getting ready to leave Sydney but we got invited to stay with some friends so the prospect of free accomodation, food and fun where to good to turn down. Me, Sarah and a girl called Lucy who we met in Cairns caught the ferry over to Manly to stay with our friend Dave who we also all met in Cairns, he took us to Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed to have a look (photos coming soon) and then cooked us up a lovely BBQ in the evening accompanied by a few drinks of course. The next morning we headed to Cheltenham to stay with Lucy which is where we are now. Its a really quite little village 40 minutes out of the city by train but its been nice to chill out for a few days and catch up with Lucy, last night we headed into town and met up with 2 girls Lauren and Eve who we travelled China and had a few drinks and then another of the Cairns crew Alfie also came out for a few! So that is where we are and tomorrow we leave Lucy's at 5.30am to be able to catch our bus at just gone 7 to make our way to Melbourne.
Cant wait to see you all its only 8 weeks on sunday love you all xxxx
