Day 5: We awoke to a humid and cloudy day ready to see if we could find some sea turtles. We were picked up at 9:00 from the hotel and made our way across a massive bridge to the island of Nusa Dua where we were dropped off at our snorkel/turtle adventure. We were fitted with fins and taken to our boat just as the rain started. It was pouring on the way out to the snorkeling dock. We got there and I hopped in the water as it was much warmer than the air. Layla soon followed and we got to feed bread to some of the fish that were swarming us. After about 15 minutes of snorkeling in the rain we got back on the boat to go to Turtle Island which turned out to be a bit disappointing. It was more of a turtle farm with other wildlife in small dirty cages and the whole place was swarming with tourists. We didn't take too long there as it was kind of sketchy so we got back on the boat and headed back to our launch station where we had to wait for our driver for more than 45 minutes. We got back to the hotel and had a swim before going out to Krisna, the Balinese version of Wal Mart. It was quite interesting and we picked up some really cool merch. We headed back to the hotel to go for a walk as I had to pick up my tailored suit and Leanne and Layla wanted to go for a pedicure/manicure down the street. We turned in early and had an alright end to a frustrating start of our day.
Day 6: We awoke and headed down to the pool immediately as it was a scorcher! After a relaxing morning we headed back to the Carla Spa to get Layla's hair braided. What was supposed to be a 1/2 hour job turned out to be a 2-hour hair job! While we were waiting for Layla Leanne and I had a massage which was really great. We went back to the hotel to catch our van to our dinner on the beach in Jambarran. We got to pick our fish out, watch them cook it and then eat it on the beach as the sun went down. The evening ended with a traditional dance show and some market shopping in Kuta Square before heading back to the hotel very tired, full and sweaty! I am really looking forward to getting my tattoo tomorrow from Bali G...should be interesting. It is also our last day in Bali tomorrow. We fly out at 1:00 am the following day and have to be at the airport at 9:30 pm. It will definitely be a long day!
