Compared to our other days traveling, this can almost be considered a success by us arriving at our destination on the correct day. It was, however, a day spent on a cramped sweaty minibus with one of the most disgusting men for our driver: a fat, malicious beast of a man, with grey hair fashioined into something between a mullet and a mohawk. Rather than stop for us all to take a break, he would pull over once in a while, not let any of us out, and buy snacks for himself. Maybe he had good reason, since half the bus decided to wait an hour on the Guatemala-Belize border for a couple that were forced to fill out a lengthy visa application. How a country as insignificant as Belize can justify charging $100 for some tourist and then another $15 for everyone leaving is beyond me. Even though we barely stepped foot on Belizien soil, we also had to pay this excessive fare.
At least Mexico didn´t disappoint. It´s very friendly here and is full of late night bars filled with the local drunks. I wish we could see more of it but the Havana set finale of our tip is looming ever closer.
