Ok, so Sunday found me in downtown Barrie just hanging by the marina, dipping goin and out of shops and then quaffing ale in an Irish pub. The sun was out and the sky clear blue. A good day for just chilling and catching the Rays.
Today more sunshine and another harbour Penetanguishene al la the map to the right. What is it about being near water on a hot sunny day that is so pleasing? I don't know, but I'm glad I found it. This harbour is just one of the many that dot the beaches of the larger Georgian Bay, and this is something I still can't get my head round, these are lakes but they look and smell like the ocean. It truly is awesome.
Also on the agenda today was a trip to the Martyr's Shrine just outside Penetanguishene. Some do find these experiences very moving, a bold account of how Christianity brought enlightenment to the First Nations. Personally I think it's a big shame on the RC and Anglican missionaries. First Nations were doing fine thanks, they had their connection to the land and in that their own fitting religion. If it ain't brok, don't mend it! Ok, 'nuff said. I'll post some photos!
