Ok I got to get caught up on the last two days of events. Yesterday had a rough start to our adventure to the Cinque de Terre. We decided to take the 9:40 AM train instead of the 6 AM train so we could get some extra sleep. That was a mistake. The train started out delayed an hour and a half before we even got on it. Then what was to be a four hour train ride turned into almost a seven hour train ride. Kade did well, but Kate was about at her wits end as we pulled into the first village of our 3 day tour of the Cinque de Terre. I was nervous because I had assured them of a great 3 days and I had reserved a awesome place to stay in each village we stayed. At least I hoped so since I had the internet as my guide. Luckily my luck turned around once we arrived in Monterosso Al Mare. The room I reserved was better than I expected and the weather is beautiful. We left the balcony doors open for the night and let the breeze cool the room as we slept. It was the best rest we had all trip. Before that we ate at an outside cafe on the beach and also met some great aussies who want to come to Texas. Of course we gave them our email and said yall come on down. Aussies are great fun. We woke up this morning and grabbed the train to the next village to have lunch. All the villages are exceptional and look right out of a National Geographic magezine. We enjoyed the view and did some shopping before heading to our next village where we are staying for the night. Corniglia is the middle village and its the only one not on the water, but on a cliff above the sea. It was a rough hike up with our packs, but again worth every step. The town is very small and seems to just rise out of the cliff above the water. Our apartment has a awesome view off the balcony of the sea and down the coast. Its even better than the last so I am earning points with Kade and Kate. I needed them after the train ride. We have enjoyed some shopping around the village and relaxing on the balcony. We plan again tonight to just leave the balcony doors open and enjoy the sea breeze. Damn I am going to miss this place. Tomorrow we head to the last two villages, staying in the last before heading back to Rome late Friday evening. Till tomorrow...
