It is friday, woo!!! We have just finished our 1st full week in the Spanish school and are pretty tired. It is sometimes quite hard but most of the time it is very enjoyable, mainly due to our teacher Gloria. She is the same age as us and we have discovered that me and her are very very alike! By Friday we are all a bit silly and me and her end up in fits of giggles quite a lot! Mainly because of the very random things that we talk about during conversation time (i.e. Politics in Costa Rica vs UK, healthcare, Buddhism, religion in general, prostitutes in Quepos, the UK and in general, different words for poo in spanish and boobs in engligh, teenage pregnancy, how crazy/bad/evil/funny Ian is, men in skirts...ie kilts, happiness and the reasons for it, cold weather and snow, highland cows, the colour of my hair, the pope, explaining the word "Ginger"...as opposed to Ginger pronounced Ginjer, puppet presidents, big girl pants, panties, paper rounds, smelly people....I am sure I could go on!)
Last night it rained sooooo much!!! We thought that we knew rain...we have never seen rain like this. Not only was it heavier than we have ever seen but it lasted like that all night! We were only in it for about 10 seconds but were totally soaked through....we might as well have gone swimming fully clothed! And the thunder is seriously loud, sometimes it feels like the ground is actually shaking. and the lightening lit up the sky bright red...it was pretty cool!!
Though we are hoping that it gets it out of its system because tomorrow is our surfing day!!
