Howdy all:
well it’s been awhile but the good lord must be bored so he persuaded us to go on another month long European trip. This time he tricked lifelong friends Kerry and sue to join us. Well actually truth be known a more accurate statement is lady periwinkle and her man servant (me) are holding onto Kerry and dues coat tails this trip. Yep mind in neutral.
To give s but if history February the four of us booked flights to and from Barcelona and set axrough agenda of countries to visit. After that they ran with what cities we were visiting, where we were staying one arriving, transportation needs, along with basic sites. I know we are going to Portugal, Morocco for the day, Rock of Gibraltar, ( I just like saying “rock of Gibraltar) canary island(s) and Madeira. (I don’t know if I spelled Madeira right.
That’s all periwinkle and I know, so let’s see how this works
Our flight from Winnipeg to Montreal went perfectly and with a 5 hour layover we settled in. Oh well flight delayed for an hour but “oh well”. s*** happens. We boarded what we thought was an air canada flight but ended up being Qatar air, a sister affiliate of air Canada. Hm went to our seats and my god it was tight. Way tighter than our regional flight. So close in fact I couldn’t watch a show on the head rest in front as my face was 1 foot away from the screen. I’m not exaggerating, it was the most cramped seat I have ever been on.
The flight attendants were wonderful and shockingly Dom schmuzzed one attendant right from the start, and she was digging the old chubby squinty eyed bald guy. Apparently my people are sought after in Qatar. Anyway
They served a fabulous meal with a small bottle of wine all complimentary. Then I tried to fall asleep but my legs were cramping and spasming all night so that was futile. So I muddled through the night while periwinkle slept with a peaceful smile on her face. ( no doubt thinking of me).
Upon arrival we made our way to customs and being an avid CBD user was concerned of being screened by drug sniffing dogs etc. Ah nothing like that, no words exchanged just stamped our passport and off we went.
We had some good laughs in line with a drunk French 20 year old who couldn’t stand trying to act sober. Police were called and his trip didn’t start very well
We made it to our bus, paid 6.50 euros pp and it took us right to the Area our Airbnb. Utilizing the “maps.me “ program it lead us right to our two bedroom suite. Very nice.
Periwinkle went for a quick dodo and Kerry, sue and I went to supermarket and bought cheese, meats, crackers lots of wine and beer, then returned to our suite where we sat in the balcony and drank and ate. After a few beer I went for a cat nap and Kerry and sue drank some more
We got up and went to the big plaza open air market here and walked around finally looking for a place but couldn’t find anything that looked appetizing so we settled on (5 guys restaurant) where we had a burger and fries. Yep 5000 miles and we go to a chain restaurant. But dam it was good.
We walked some more than back to our suite for a nite cap and drinks. Jet lag feels just like night shift and doesn’t feel great. Good news is we have a bidet so that’s going to exciting tomorrow for my 8am constitutional poop.
Dominique gave it a whirl and came back with two thumbs up review but for some reason needed a smoke? Hmmm?
That sets the plate for this trip so off to bed I go.
Nite all

Lorine Madon Glad you’re there. We love Barcelona. Be sure to check out the market on Le Ramba.
Alex Sounds lovely, let’s see some pictures!
Lorine I must say I am greatly disappointed in the Five Guys. Do better!!
