We woke up in Sydney, NE, at a hotel near the Cabela's World Headquarters. We packed up quickly and took off toward Wyoming. The scenery started to change as we got closer to Wyoming. The land has rolling grasslands, shrubs and once in Wyoming there are snow capped mountains. We saw over 50 pronghorns roaming but they went by fairly quickly since the speed limit is 80 mph. Last night it rained off and on so when we got up this morning the tent was wet but it had stopped raining so we got up and packed the tent and camping supplies before it started raining again. The boys rode their bikes around the campground and saw plenty of deer. We needed them to burn off some energy before getting in the car and driving 6 hours. We left Champagne, Illinois around 9 am this morning. The drive was pretty uneventful. We stopped at Hannibal, MO, where Mark Twain grew up. We looked at the Mississippi River, saw a train coming through town and got food at the Mark Twain Brewery. Since we had a seven hour drive we got our food to go and ate in the car. We left around 4:30 this evening from our home to begin our expedition out west. Before we got 10 minutes into our journey we were notified that the house we rented next week was accidentally double booked so the host cancelled our reservations and now we have to search for a new place to stay.
