Our apartment in Barceloneta near the beach and within walking distance of La Rambla a wonderful area full of shops, street entertainers and a huge market. You could spend the day just "people watching"!!!

A congregation of about 300 had gathered for mass one afternoon in 1942 when a German bomb pierced through the dome, onto the floor and skidded through the church. Unbelievably, the bomb did not explode! During the WW II, Malta became the most bombed place on earth - 7000 tons fell in just 6 weeks.

The ancient Hagar Qim Temple Ruins are from 3500 BC and are set on a cliff-top in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of Malta. The people who built them used quite sophisticated architecture and engineering techniques. Quite amazing for a civilization almost 6000 years ago!!

The "Azure Window" is a beautiful arch on the west coast of Gozo an island just north of the main island of Malta. Are we having any fun yet?
