Well after all that travelling, we thought a holiday was in order so we went to Langkawi, a holiday island off the west coast of Malaysia. We spent five times our normal budget on a 4 Star(plus) resort hotel, located on the beach with an excellent pool and all the amenities needed to "chill" for a few days. It started badly, we had been travelling all day and the hotel pick up did not arrive, after half an hour we called the hotel and they sent the car. We explained our disappointment that a hotel of their standard could not even organise a car - Their response was to upgrade our accommodation and give us a free dinner …. The "room" was a detached unit on the edge of the jungle overlooking the bay and the Andaman Sea ……. Now we can relax - Big Style

On the third day we needed to visit an ATM and after Heather sent the taxi driver away, disgusted that he was trying to charge us about £2 - We spent the next hour and a half walking to the ATM in the blazing Malaysian sun - This should ring bells for Caroline and Adam from our previous visit to Malaysia - We returned by taxi.

All too soon our taste of luxury was over and fully laden with our backpacks, we set off to find the Penang ferry.
