Hi Everyone,

Been in Coogee this week, very chilled out and relaxed but the weather hasn't been so great. Our hostel The Wizard of Oz has been really nice. Quite small so we have got to meet more people. Sharing a room with some really friendly girls, including Irish girls who talk in their sleep! Literally a 5 minute walk from Coogee beach, which is a nice sheltered bay, but not many waves so not as many surfers!

Saturday was a pretty chilled out day, did boring stuff like washing and food shopping - managed to get our weeks basic food for about the price of a meal out! On Sunday we went to Bondi and spent most of the day there until we turned around at about 4pm to see a huge black cloud behind us. Managed to run to a cafe just in time before it poured down! We did treat ourselves to a coffee and a HUGE piece of carrot cake though! Monday was another dull day so we spent the day doing some reading and research at the hostel. Got out the hostel in the evening and went to a Thai restaurant just down the road where we sat on squishy square seats and had a lovely Thai meal. Tuesday we went down to Manly again and went to the proper beach. The weather was nice and sunny all day which was good, managed to escape the day without getting too burnt! Wednesday we spent the day at Cronulla, one of Sydney's southern beaches. Its about a 50minute train ride away from central station. The beach wasn't as pretty as the ones around us. Managed to get a few hours on the beach before a big black cloud took the sun away and it started to rain and rumble thunder, at which point we decided to head back to Coogee.

Today were going to walk from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach. Its a 2hr walk along cliff tops and through the beachs inbetween the two. Should be a nice walk so long as it doesn't rain! Its a bit overcast at the moment here but the sun is trying to get through the clouds!

Looking forward to heading off to Melbourne on Saturday, the weather looks more stable down there, all this cloud isn't good for working up a tan! Had an email from Lydia this week who is another friend from uni who is hopefully joining us at the beginning of February. We're looking at hiring a car and sharing the driving between the 3 of us. Its a really good way to see the scenery so hopefully we'll get that sorted soon.

Its our last day in Coogee today and we're back at Sydney Central YHA for a night on Friday. We leave for Melbourne 7.00am on Saturday morning, an early start, but we're sure its worth it!
