After a great crossing we docked in Sakaiminato at nine o'clock. It took 15 hours to cross from Donghae. Cannot believe we have made it to Japan with no flying. Again the weather is stunning (mid to late 20s). First we collected our Japan rail pass from the train station. The pass gives us 14 days unlimited travel.

Great ferry crossing, nice and calm. It took 22 hours to travel from Vladivostok to Donghae. We arrived in Korea to a warm day but with a lot of sea mist. We walked around this port town and found a lovely secluded cove to dunk my feet in the sea. We exchanged our remaining roubles for some Korean won so we could buy an ice-cream. Back on the ferry now, next stop Japan.

Time to set sail from Russia! Whilst in Russia, as well as having a passport and visa, it is necessary to register in each city you visit (the hotel registers you). The photo shows all the separate registrations required. We are prepared for the ferry crossing, i have plenty of Stugeron and Andrew has Diazepan! Hopefully it will be a calm trip down to South Korea.

Lovely sunny day strolling around Vladivostok. Walked around Sportivnaya Harbour and then had a second ride on the funicular! This time we climbed up further and found a stunning lookout over the bay. Really enjoying being lazy in this city. Just sat and watched the sun drop into the sea from the balcony. Tomorrow we catch the ferry, first stop Donghae.

Had the best nights sleep. After a late start looked around Vladivostok in the scorching sunshine. We walked across the Golden Horn Bridge which was a bit scary (when you stopped walking you could feel it moving). We then caught the funicular 100m uphill just for the fun of it!
