Today (31-1-10) we decided to go to the Batu Caves with a Canadian guy we met at our hostel. We were going to go yesterday but there was a Hindu festival so about 1.3million people went, some of them setting off at 5am to get there, they even come from oz to see them! The hostel is realy nice and the staff are friendly but the room is a little unusual. Our room, well none of the rooms actually have ceilings. I'm sure there is a roof on the building somewhere but all we have covering the top of our room is a large peice of fabric - possibly an old curtain. Well after an emotinal goodbye at Dublin airport me and Siobhan went and got a stiff drink to calm our nerves and stop the tears! By the time we'd finished it was time to get on the flight to Stansted, which nearly ran smoothly apart from the robbing gypsies at Ryanair tried to charge Siobhan 35 euros because her hand luggage wouldn't fit in that stand they have at the gates.
