Of course in true Hasson form this trip began late as we woke up at 3:00am to leave by 4 but fell back asleep till 4:15. We made it in the car by 4:30 and somehow to Laguardia airport with no time to spare. Our first flight went smoothly to Chicago but when we arrived our flight to Salt Lake was cancelled. Ronnie ran to reroute us and we ended up on a flight to Phoenix with a connection 3 hours later to Salt Lake. In the process Ronnie's chair got soaked from American Airlines leaving it out in the rain and now he is sitting in soaking wet jeans. Apparently our luggage will make it on to an earlier flight to salt lake- hope we meet it there! Can't wait to see how we will camp with no sleeping bags or tents! In the meantime we are eating our well prepared cereal bags and boxes and are looking forward to our sushi and pastrami sandwich lunches....
.....hallelujah! After a loooooong day of 3 flights and lots of airports we finally made it to salt lake. Somehow our bags made it as well and we met them on the carousel about 45 minutes later. Ronnie and Aida went to get the rental car and we packed in for our 4 hour drive to Dinosaur. On the way we watched an unbelievably beautiful rainbow and drove through lots of rain as Hannah kept reading the 0% chance of rain on her weather app. We prayed our campsite at dinosaur national monument would be dry as we were going to have to set up camp in the pitch black at 11:00 pm. With an hour left we stopped at Walmart and ran around supermarket sweep style grabbing what we needed for camping( a cooler, ice, cereal,milk....) we finally arrived and had a quick hot dog/ marshmallow roast and set up camp while Olivia slept in the car with millions of bugs surrounding her from the lights headlights on. We watched the Milky Way and billions of gorgeous stars in the dark night sky of Dinosaur. Good night!
