Samui update: Mark picked his suit up, and it looks wicked!! its got tan leather trim on each of the pockets and a bit on the jacket pocket. The only problem is he now has a suit to carry for 3 and abit months!!.
After a very long journey we arrived safe in Singapore today at 11.00am (singapore time). We were picked up at our hotel in Samui at 6.00 in the morning, it took an hour to get down to where the coach was. Then another hour to the ferry that took another 2 hours!!(no it doesnt end here!). We got back onto the coach (which was on the ferry with us), this took us to surratthanni which took yet another hour. When we arrived here we had to wait for another bus, they call them VIP buses but there clearly not, the air con doesnt even work, this "VIP" bus picked us up at midday, they only have 12 seats on them and it was only me and mark on it - i was so happy!!. BUT then we realised that we had to pick everyone up, there are no boots or storage on these buses so we literally were sitting on our bags, five hours later we arrived at Hat Yai which i must say is probably the realest Thailand that we have seen on our trip, (im glad we didnt stay here so overcrowded), the VIP bus dropped us on the side of the road and we got into a car, and he took us 15 minutes down the road to where we had to catch the coach to Singapore (thought it was well dodgy - but we are still alive now- sorry mums).
We got on the coach at 6.00pm the seats were massive and so comfortable, untill you try and fall asleep on them. I was scared for my life on this coach, he was driving so fast everytime he turned a corner it felt like we were doing a wheely, it must of been the bounciest coach i have ever been on, felt like we were about to take off at points.
we had to cross at the Malaysian border, so we had to get off twice, first was to show them our passports, then about half an hour later we had to get the luggage off and go through customs.
At 4.00am we stopped to get some food, but me and mark being us only had 3 malaysian Ringits on us!! so we bought one roll and shared it, it was the worst roll we have ever eaten, it was sweet (who eats sweet rolls!!).
The toilet situation is worse in the south of Thailand, i was disctusted!. the more i use these holes in the ground, the more it confuses me??, how do you stand? how do you wipe?(theres never any toilet roll), and how do you wash your hands??, the only water in there is the water you use to flush (its in a bucket next to the toilet with another small bucket inside to pour down the toilet) and thats got to be full up with all kinds of deadly bacteria!!. i did run the tap last night and the water was yellow *cringe* .
Anyway before i blab my way down the page, the coach through thailand and Malaysia was an experience, but an experience i never want to have to go through again. Im far to posh to wee in a hole in the ground. If you love the idea of travelling for 30 hours with no food, water or sleep then youl love the coach ride.
We are in a hostel in Singpore right now, its so expensive here!( a fiver for a bottle of beer) , not how i imagined it but maybe thats because i need some sleep. We just went outside and ive never seen a place so packed out in all my life, theres thousands of men but no women - i will get to the bottom of this and update you all on why there are no women around.
Going to the night safari tomorrow.
Goodnight from both of us
Missing everyone. Will update the blog in Australia
