We arrived in Santiago....eventually. We didnt have the greatest first day as we managed to get taken for a ride (excuse the pun) by a taxi driver and his friend who were considerably more awake than us at the early hour of the morning and we left the taxi having managed to pay double what we should have. Here we encountered our first major problem of the trip so far. After pre-booking our bed for the night and arriving at 10.30pm at Sao Paulo bus station we climbed in a taxi who's driver had never heard of the hostel or in fact the area! After driving around for around an hour and a half we eventually found the address only to be greeted by for sale signs and no hostel in sight. At this point, nearly midnight, we decided to check into a hotel. After intial shocks...
