Today we made it to Santorini (Greek Island). The flight was quite uneventful and we arrived around lunch time. We are staying in a little apartment on a cliff with a view of the Caldera (the rim of the Volcano that errupted causing part of the island to sink, giving it the unique shape it has today). Unfortunatelty it is not ideal weaterwhise to be here at this time of year. It is only about 17 degrees and it is quite foggy and windy. It is still very pretty ...

Today was Acropolis day :o) we walked up the stairs and hills and got in for free (again!) as it was Easter. The only downside was that the museum is closed Mondays so we didn't get to go and the the orginal pieces of the ruins that have since been replaced by casts. It was good to walk around the site though and the view of Athens from there is very impressive. There were lots of tourists in high heels (hopeless - it's all uneven rock and slippery marble there!...

Today we left Delphi. On the way through all the villages there were people in the street celebrating Easter Sunday. Sooooo many lambs on spits in a row and people dancing and partying etc We stopped at roadside tavern/petrol station. Today we walked down to the historic site at Delphi. We lucked out (again) and it was free entry - there are some benefits to travelling at Easter. We walked all around the site which starts from road level and climbs up the side of the mountain. We saw the ruins, some restored areas, the ampitheatre and the sporting arena. Very cool. The train to the airport in Rome was like a Sardine tin this morning. Soooo many people on it in general plus heaps more with suitcases. It was crazy. We left on time but there were people aroud us freaking out about missing planes as everything was taking longer than it should. Guess that's what we get for flying at Easter.
